Anti Social Behaviour in Burbage - Your Views

13 Mar 2007

Two thirds of those people who responded to the recent Burbage Liberal Democrat Residents Survey indicated that anti-social behaviour was a major concern.

Many people stressed the lack of clubs and activities for young people of all ages in the Burbage area. Burbage Liberal Democrats are pressing the County, Borough and Parish Councils to make proper provisions for the young in Burbage, so that there is no excuse for congregating in large groups in areas like Brookside and Boyslade Road.

Burbage Lib Dem Youth Spokesperson Adrian Smith said: 'It's vital that we improve the range and quality of activities for young people in Burbage, especially after school and in the evenings, and the Lib Dems are committed to doing just that.'

Local campaigner David Inman, who has taken actions in another Council area says 'There is a range of measures that the Police or Borough Council could take to deal with the behaviour that causes distress for residents, and can lead to damage being caused to property. Particular incidents should always be reported to the Police.'
